Course is designed to prepare individuals/teams to apply Advanced Techniques in both Low Angle and High Angle Environments to meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 (2021) Technician-level, Standards for Technical Rescuer- Chapters 5 & 7 and NFPA 1670 (2021) Technician-level Standard on Operations and Training for Technical Search and Rescue Incidents – Chapters 5 & 7. The course covers skills used in industrial, confined space, and mountain rescue.
Skills include: Line Transfer, Litter Attendant, High Line Systems, Knot Passing, Preplanning, Ascending/Descending, and Rescue Scenarios utilizing the use of an Artificial High Directional. The final day of the course offers Rope Rescue Technician certification testing based on knowledge and practical skill requirements of NFPA 1006.
The skills portion of this class will be conducted in an outdoor setting.
This certification is valid for a period of two-years.
